The First® LEGO® League Challenge is a global STEM programme for teams of young people to encourage an interest in real-world themes and develop key skills crucial to their future careers.
BHCA in association with PENDRAGON COMMUNITY PRIMARY SCHOOL are introducing this to local children, which we began on Monday 28th October 2026. With the help of a number of Companies we have now been able to enter the team into a National Event for which the final Competition day will take place in Market Deeping on Sunday 17th January.
After they complete the building of the various Lego Models, they will then begin programming Lego Robots to carry out missions on a large playmat. As well as this the children will be investigating a particular issue, and presenting their ideas for a solution at the "Competition Day", wearing their own designed T-Shirts.
We will be posting regular details of how the children are getting on, so stay tuned for updates!

We would especially like to thank the following for their generous assistance in enabling BHCA to bring this exciting opportunity to local Children:
SOUTH CAMBRIDGESHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL (Communities Team) for making this possible with the initial funding to purchase all of the Robots etc. needed.
CATERPILLAR (Peterborough) who have kindly entered us into the Market Deeping Tournament, and funded the kit for this seasons event (BIOGLOW)
AARON TAWNY (Kettering) for providing additional funding for us to purchase the additional equipment needed and Children's T-Shirts
CAMBRIDGE BIOSCIENCE (Bar Hill) for providing funding for the Childrens Team T-Shirts (which the children will design their own front picture), plus additional equipment
We are also very lucky to have two sterling coaches to help us in our Journey:
FATIH UNAL - who has run a basic Lego Club at Pendragon School for some years and is also a Parent Governor at the School
SAPPHIRE GRANT - Who originates from Bar Hill, and works as a Financial Advisor at Aaron Tawny and is responsible for helping us achieve the funding we require
